Dems already spent a year of primaries considering #Biden vs any other challengers. Age was clearly an issue considered. And Biden won handily.

Time for the media to move on and quit framing every day as a crisis point.

There was never any real oppposition. If there had been we wouldn't be where we are now.

At least 3 declared formal candidates could have served to channel a massive protest vote. It never materialized. A write-in campaign could also have served to channel a massive protest vote. That never materialized either.

And if I may: When I voted for him, I knew exactly who I was voting for. I knew I was voting for an old guy. I knew there might be tough moments. I want my vote to count.

We trust him on whether to launch nukes. But not on this?

All of a sudden everyone is an expert. All of a sudden everyone is a doctor and a strategic Ph. D.

1. If he were as disabled as people say he is, he wouldn't be out delivering speeches and sitting down for interviews with ABC.

2. If he ever did get to a point where he couldn't do those things ... that's what the 25th Amendment is for.

3: Inasmuch as we are NOT AT THAT POINT, why are people pretending 14M of us didn't vote for this guy?

If this was not your guy, the time to say so, out loud, and get other people to agree was SIX MONTHS AGO.

If you missed the window because you were more interested in something else, SORRY. But we VOTED for this guy. And we DO NOT appreciate anyone -- suddenly all brilliant and spotlighted -- supposedly looking out for our best interests -- telling us that doesn't matter.

It does matter.

Even if you're a millionaire. Even if you're a billionaire. Even if you write a newspaper column.

So maybe -- with all due respect -- put a sock in it. And get to work.

That along with all competition being squelched. So I disagree with your premise. It's never too late to change coyrse when headef towards disaster.

Then what you're saying is that you think the 25th Amendment should be invoked. The Cabinet doesn't seem to agree and if a doctor who has examined the president agrees, I haven't heard about out. You skipped over the part where you want to throw out my vote.

@YusufToropov @TCatInReality @democratsabroad no I do not know enough about the President's Cognitive function to make a judgement about the 25th. PD or similar are progressive. It apoears to be affecting him quite a bit and clouding his judgement. What I believe is, we are not being told the truth about Biden's health and we could lose the election because of it. If I was the Lord I would tell Joe to stop fooling himself. See out your term, but withdraw from the election . There is no pleasure in saying it. The stakes are too high and sadly Biden seems more concerned with himself than the country at the moment. PS I voted for Joe in the primary too.

@kwheaton @YusufToropov @TCatInReality @democratsabroad the NYT has been reporting endlessly for over a year on Biden's age and there is no "smoking gun", no secret medical report that he actually has dementia or anything like that. This is highly conspiratorial thinking, the reasons for his episode on the debate have been well explained. I get on stage for tech talks / music performance and I have a lot of performance issues, if I were sick and jetlagged i completely get seizing up like that.

@kwheaton @YusufToropov @TCatInReality @democratsabroad whats ironic is the "conspiracy" to cover up Trump's clear signs of dementia in his many speeches where in literally all of them he slurs out nonsense, and there's plenty of reason to believe hes drugged out on amphetamines to keep going.

one theme with Trump it is that virtually 100% of the accusations they make against others are in fact about themselves. From "lock her up" to "low energy" they're always telling on themselves

Let's not forget that in Trump's admin, he was reported to work as little as 3 hours a day. We KNOW he didn't read briefs or understand basic concepts.

To expect Biden to be at peak performance 24 x 7 is a doublestandard. THAT is why he has a team of excellent people and great respect for process and norms.

I voted for Biden and would again. However I think we are being lied to about his health and I don't think he can win or is up to the task.

@YusufToropov @TCatInReality @democratsabroad Obviously you have no personal experience with PD. It is a PROGRESSIVE, NEUROLOGICAL disorder. You can have good and bad days or times of day. Treatments can be more or less effective. Currently there is no cure and if it is PD it is eventually life-threatening. My Dad had it but died of Lung cancer before the worse end stages arrived. I have a good friend who was in a wheel chair with PD but is back to using a walker.

We have not been given a REASONABLE explanation for what we can see with our own eyes. What I see is not normal aging. The only reason we have not been told is that they don't wabt us to know. And that for me is the worst part.

Biden won the battle to be nominee in 2020 in a wide open race. 4 years later, there's still no one better to balance all the different factions

If someone really had broad backing, they certainly would have tried in the primaries. No one did, it's over.

@TCatInReality @YusufToropov @democratsabroad that was then and this is now. Biden was healthy then and not showing his age or cognitive issues. Earlier this year, as is typical, everyone closed ranks around Biden. I think this has been dismissed and hidden for some time. Something is wrong and they aren't coming clean. That bothers me the most. If he has no cognituve isdues he'd just consent to be evaluated and put it to rest. That IS the problem.
