Can I use reaper for mixing? That’s mainly what I need to do right now. I need to record vocals over an instrumental track. Audacity can do it, but it can’t do a very good job of cleaning it up if yours truly goes off key or something.
@TSchulte awesome! Looks like I can drastically cut down on the amount of audio editing software. I generally have to keep installed on one computer as soon as I get a license for this thing. My current challenge right now is finding the record button and figuring out what I did to my sound devices so that nothing plays.
@kd0ess practical solution, except humans have their limits as to how much air they can hold in at one time, and when I start to run low on air, I go off key. Happens more often during the summer months, but I’m hoping I can get this released toward the end of the month. I’m aiming for July 22. One of the tracks on the Album will make it obvious as to why.
@kd0ess there’s a special significance to the entire project. No copyright problems here though. i’d never dream of releasing any covers or the parodies I’ve written. Too many legal hoops to jump through, although some people might find sore nerves and bleeding ears, quite entertaining, especially those who hate incense and peppermints as much as I do. Lol
@ToniBarth that’s kind of awesome. Too bad I wouldn’t know how to play an instrument of my life depended on it. I used to be able to play a little, but I fell out of practice.
@evilcookies98 Same here, stopped playing recorder and piano before finishing high school back in the day. Luckily MIDI keyboard is far from real live keyboard, as in you've got as many tries at it as you want and can always fix mistakes post recording, and thanks to tools like Dubler, we can use our voice as instrument too. And if you don't want to play an instrument at all, you can always program your melodies instead.
