Sunday hike. Our planned hike was closed due to an aggressive bear, so we did the out-and-back from Holy Ghost to Stewart Lake in the Pecos Wilderness. Took a full immersion in the lake. Lots of water in creeks for the doggos and perfect temperatures. NM never disappoints: July 4th weekend, we saw maybe 6 people over the 13 mile hike.

@PaulDavisTheFirst An aggressive bear in the Pecos?? I looked on the SFNF closure orders and didn't see anything. Mind sharing more details if you have any?

@ackeaa the closure signs are posted at the trailhead adjacent to the Mora campground run by NM state fishing on NM63 a few miles north of Terrerro. That trailhead is for the Las Trampas trail (#240) aka Rio Mora Loop trail.

They have not posted about it online AFAICT; I emailed them and asked them to do so.
