alright folks i need your opinions

kate's parents love picking up weird shit while antiquing and sending it to us

today, while unpacking a box they sent us, i discovered... those cups from macdonalds that are just COVERED In poisonous amounts of lead paint and cadmium

this has lead to a disagreement

she says, lets put them up as decoration. we're not drinking out of them they'd be on a shelf somewhere that's fine

i say IT'S LEAD POISON JESUS LETS GET RID OF IT

does anyone in the seattle area who has a place to store these that ISN'T directly above where they cook food want them? please let me know

i can't find a good place to show these off lol, and kate wants to make me comfy cause she loves me

we're getting rid of these but we're keeping the dinosaur one that i found that we've ALREADY HAD FOR YEARS that apparently is also lead paint.
@junebug Seriously, save them for someone you really don't like.
@junebug sick that this is 50-50 so far. I am firmly on the side of it being a hilarious thing to have on a shelf
@kate @junebug PUT IT IN A GLASS CASE OR ON A SHELF WITH A SIGN. IT'LL BE FUNNY
@junebug get a decorative, sealed case so nobody uses them by mistake and it'll be fine.
@junebug don't waste space on poison decorations

@junebug

I have a few of these old glasses in my Pac collection... NEVER GOING TO USE THEM.

@JulieSqveakaroo yeah if you have any glasses with REALLY BRIGHT colorful paint, you should never use them ever

@junebug

I absolutely did drink out of them, as a kid... a lot.

We had zero clue, back then.

@junebug

If you want to freak folks out, trace the glass and make a vinyl cling out of it to place on a new, clean pint glass with all new bright vinyl colors!

@junebug it’s fine as long as you’re not drinking out of them or handling them and then like, licking your hands or something. The risk is consuming it, specifically.
