Too hot to go out & tired from the 4th, so we watched TV all day - soccer followed by #Kdrama. I loved #MissingCrownPrince ! - stayed up way past my bedtime to finish it.

@jcurries yay! I'm so glad you liked it, too. It was different from a lot of kdramas. It was very TENSE through most of the middle of it, with silliness at the beginning and end. I really loved how true to his beliefs SUHO's character was, even when everyone else was against him.

What did you like about it?

@JillsJoy @jcurries
I loved the relationship between the brothers, which generally stayed strong even in the face of huge external pressure.
@EllenInEdmonton @JillsJoy I *loved* the main couple - the way they were both so good and strong and unwavering (and adorable). I also liked the second layer of a couple with a strong love but lacking a moral core. The only problem for me was that I felt like I was supposed to feel more sympathy for Choi Sang Rok but I just hated him šŸ˜› And I loved the resolution of the brother getting punished for his betrayal by becoming king šŸ˜‚

@jcurries @EllenInEdmonton "lacking a moral core" is a great way to put it. I hated Choi Sang-Rok, too! šŸ˜…

Yes, the love and trust between the brothers meant a whole lot. Even when the younger brother made decisions that didn't necessarily fit with the older brother's unspoken plans, he still made the best decisions he knew how to to protect the ones he loved. That indignant fire in his belly when he felt untrusted!

@JillsJoy @EllenInEdmonton Yeah their relationship was great. Younger brother was lacking information and bit immature, but good-hearted, and hyungnim was so clear-eyed about everything. I’m a total sucker for heroism based on love & kindness, and Suho did it SO well.
@jcurries @JillsJoy
Initially, I felt some sympathy for the Royal Physician and the Dowager Queen with their ill-fated love. However, they ruthlessly killed anyone who interfered with their plans so that's not too sympathetic!
The brothers were great, trying so hard to support their loved ones with so much interference.
FL is only 22 IRL and she played SUCH a strong character. I saw an interview that was kind of awkward when Suho connected with their age difference.
@EllenInEdmonton @JillsJoy She did a wonderful job, I thought. Brought tons of maturity to the role despite her age. And they looked so cute together- those round faces! 🄰
I had a *little* sympathy for the dowager bc she was traumatized by the former king and was treated so badly for loving the wrong man, but he was just terrible. I felt a bit resentful when they walked off happily together after death.
Because I’m more spiteful than the Prince šŸ˜‚
@EllenInEdmonton @jcurries I'm kind of glad that their kiss scenes were few and pretty chaste. Yes, 33 and 22 are both adults, but ...
