The problem is that Democratic mass-membership organizations have been neutered and diminished to the point of irrelevancy, so the remaining voice of the Democratic polity is "top donors."

@jeffjarvis Don’t these media outlets remember when Trump called them the “Enemy of the People “? If he gets back in office he’ll be rounding the media up and jailing reporters for “treason”. He’ll call it an “official act” and be completely immune from any consequences.

@jeffjarvis sorry but I have no idea how you can say he’s strong, charismatic & energetic sincerely. Just feels like a denial of what we’ve seen. He’s a good man & he’s been a good president but we absolutely have to beat Trump & I think it would be a dereliction of duty not to explore what gives us the best chance to do so. If he has another debate performance like that in September it would be catastrophic & there’d be no chance/time to change candidates. Too much of a risk imo
