So it was time for my annual watch of 1776, the movie.

Yes, I know it's not totally historically accurate. Yes, there's a lot of whitewashing of the founders.

I still watch it every year to remind myself that people are human and democracy is hard and complicated and worth fighting for. Also because I cry like a baby when Adams sings "Is Anybody There?"

@aunteef We did the musical at our local community theater way back in 1989. I got to "abstain courtesously" every night and on Sunday afternoons.
