Going out of town for a few weeks before my trial next month and here we go again. They said they can’t check me into my flight. Waiting as they figure it out 🫠 I wish they would just be honest instead of pretending like they don’t know what’s going on.
Just as I hit publish on that post I overheard them saying they’re going to TSA to alert them. In the past they’ve done this over the phone but it still takes forever
They’re waiting for someone specific with TSA to be ready for me and need to search my bag before I can get checked in.
This is new. They’re asking me to write down my address and email on a paper?
They just blamed this entire shit show on spelling my middle name wrong as if that information isn’t right in front of my eyes with zero errors. They gave the exact same excuse last time lol.
About an hour and a half so far just to check in. If I overheard correctly she said on the phone to TSA she can continue with the check in process as we wait for the special TSA person to be ready for me

Was finally able to check in after over an hour.

Soon after I got pulled away by someone with TSA who said I was their "special guest" today. First they took me to the side of TSA and made me remove all of my electronics to prove that they turn on. After this, he took my phone from me and escorted me to a security line that was closed off to everyone else. This was all already so odd that everyone was starting. I went thru one of the detector things twice, then they made me go thru a second one. After that they pulled me aside to do an invasive pat down and then I waited as they inspected all of items one by one and swabbed everything for explosive reside.

someone with DHS came over to me as l waited to chat it up. He was acting like my friend and was even flirting a bit it seemed, and "casually" getting in questions about my plans, where I'm staying, who I'm staying with, if I was alone or not.

lol. Now they don’t let me on the airplane until DHS comes to give me stamp
Apologies to anyone who this is probably so repetitive to, but I promised myself I would always share these experiences because regardless how used to it I may be, it is anything but normal or ok. Today has actually been so humiliating and infuriating. I got so angry l've been having to hold in tears. Idk why it’s pissing me off more than usual

@alissaazar

It sounds like you're on some sort of watch list.

It sounds dreadfull. I'm sorry to hear you're going thru it.

Good luck.

@JSharp1436 yeah I was told explicitly in October that I’m marked by DHS smh

@alissaazar

You need to somehow address their concerns with them, otherwise you'll get this treatment everytime. It's almost racist.

The very idea that trump is in effect a russian agent and he's treated with preferential treatment is ridiculous!

The whole world's gone mad.

@alissaazar jesus that sounds scary. sorry you had to go through that.
@cleonyc it’s really frustrating but I’m ok 🖤 unfortunately I’m very used to it but I try to remind myself that just because it feels normal to me doesn’t mean it’s ok
@alissaazar to prove that they turn on? Im sorry you experienced that, it is humiliating no matter how many times you go through it.
@EukaryoticMenace weird right? That part has been consistent since October. If any of my electronics aren’t charged and I can’t prove they can turn on they say I either have to hand it over and leave it behind or be unable to board my flight. No idea what that’s about but I’m guessing something explosives related since that’s what they seem to focus on with me?
@alissaazar that would make sense, if it can't turn on it could be re-wired. Bc journalists are famous for all the bombs they bring on planes. /s

@[email protected] so like, theoretically a phone could be re-wired into a bomb, or at least to detonate one, maybe? I’ve always just kinda assumed it was related to something of the sorts.

Seriously tho, they’re so fucking ridiculous

@alissaazar
That sounds so alarming. I'm glad you got through it okay.
@alissaazar Handwriting sample?
@gnate didn’t think of this. Could be. It was a blank piece of paper so not like I was filling anything out and it was information they should already have
@alissaazar The need for us to speculate is one of many unfortunate aspects. Thanks for sharing your experience!
@gnate yeah it’s ridiculous. I’d especially like to know why I need to prove my electronics turn on. Last time my phone was dead and they almost took it from me but I pleaded about having a charger so they let me wait to prove it turned on
@alissaazar I hate to say it, but perhaps to prove that they are what they appear, rather than IEDs, etc.
@gnate yeah that’s what I figured smh
