Next on the menu 🍽️ is a steaming pot of fresh winged sumac (Rhus copallinum) leaves. I’m using these for the tannin content to prep cotton fabric. Even though I only used a 1:5 leaf:cotton, it turned out a beautiful lemon yellow color. #naturaldyersofmastodon #dyeplants #handmade #textileart

@Jennifer I really love it, too. And since I have a literal ton of sumac growing in my woods, I’ll be trying a 1:1 ratio today to see if I can make a darker/richer shade.
