oh, a friend of mine @b23n sent me a custom cart shell that does something similar
@gameboycamera i saw this and my first thought was "oh my god is this a custom cart with a grid of lenses and photoresistors acting as gur camera????"
@bx that... is an incredibly good idea

@gameboycamera there's a youtube video out there where someone makes a 32x32 camera using descrete photoresistors paired w a single lense and its INCREDIBLY gameboy camera eqsque

adding individual lenses would produce some really cool effects, maybe cooler if it was 2 or 4 sensors per lense

like itd basically be closer to modelling a camera of an insects compound eye than it is to modelling it after a humans!!

@gameboycamera Does this thing have a name
@delegatevoid seems the smaller one is called “pixel mirror” while the larger one is “pixel window”
@gameboycamera If you create glasses using these cubes, you've successfully emulated doom on the SNES vision in real life
@Jessica I have a new life goal now thanks
@gameboycamera and here I've been manually making pixel art smh
@mvu time to step up our game
