ThunderstrikeThat culture isn't even restricted to rich white dudes. I was never particularly popular in high school, but even I experienced the subtle invitations from other guys to go and participate in those kinds of "nights out". My standing among my peers wasn't helped by my consistent refusal to participate, but my discomfort with the culture outweighed my desire to be accepted, so I just shrugged and lived with it.
I do not regret those decisions.
