I’m really not saying that Dems (as in the party proper) is the problem. The issue is that democrats are a fractious coalition of different movements. They’re like a herd of very passionate cats. Republicans put their differences to one side and vote as a group no matter what. The problem is that republicans know how to exploit Democratic fractiousness.
