This is a werewolf book. It is one of the most unusual ones in a while -- I was immediately reminded of Tanya Huff's werewolves, which are not really at all *similar*, but not at all the traditional urban fantasy werewolf tropes. It was such a breath of fresh air that I *loved* it. I highly recommend it. Read it. Praise publicly.
