Lid on kettle wasn't secure & poured boiled water over my foot. In surprise I scalded my left thigh too. Went to Raigmore where a nurse got to work wi tweezers & scalpel to get rid of the dead skin. Looked super raw afterwards & I was so close to passing out as she worked on it.
All patched up 👍
@FlikeNoir I'm glad you got medical attention for that scald. It looked bad!
@bodhipaksa Yup, pretty painful. Nurse thinks it'll take about a month to heal properly 😣
@FlikeNoir Yikes! That is a bad one. I do hope it heals quickly.
@bodhipaksa Thanks love 🙏
@FlikeNoir Whit did ye dae?
@bodhipaksa Defective kettle led to newly boiled water dowsing my foot & then, however I've reacted to that surprise, led to getting my left thigh splashed too. I now have experience of the medical procedure known as "deroofing" & wish I hadn't 😣

@FlikeNoir I wish I hadn't Googled "deroofing"! Really, tht sounds awful.

And I know you must have a lot on your plate right now, but a faulty kettle combined with a serious injury sounds like an occasion for a lawsuit.

@bodhipaksa I bought the kettle to do us over the weekend as the hotel didn't provide us with anything. Didn't get a receipt because I was already planning on leaving it in the room on leaving. So there's no way to claim for anything 🤷🏻‍♀️ It is what it is 👌
@FlikeNoir At least you have the SNHS and not the bonus of a huge hospital bill to add insult to injury.
