Nobody loves that Joe Biden is 81. It would be great if he was 35. But you know what I really dislike? Authoritarianism. So I humbly beseech people to get a goddamn grip.
Damn, if only we knew about the passage of time 4 years ago and planned to do something about it!
The only reason to support Biden is if you think he can beat Trump, which I don't think he can now.
He's the only one who can.
And Trump is nearly the same age and is a crazy malignant narcissist and a felon.
All of this also seems to show that neither party didn't learn from RFK's assassination and have a plan in place if something happens to the nominee or presumptive. Forget the two men we have today - you can have a 37 year old nominee that gets hit by a car or something and can't continue - there just seems to be no plan B. (And I know RFK wasn't the nominee at the time - but it should have made them all realize, that hey, we need a plan just in case something happens to a nominee)
Plus, I haven't got a clue what it should be or even could be - for one, the whole brokered convention idea might have worked 100+ years ago, but it sure as hell won't in today's day and age. But at least if you have an incumbent running, it can help there - you push up the VP since when we vote for president, we are always also voting for VP. Other than that, I definitely don't know, but I'm not the one that needs to come up with the plans, they are!

It's frustrating that it feels like the same people previously cheering his record while in office now suddenly say he is unfit.

@aaron.rupar The consensus manufacturing over “Biden is too old, let’s replace him” is going on because he seems more likely to win the election now than he did before. The media and its owners want to replace him with someone like Gavin Newsom, who can’t use Biden’s campaign funds and who will support anti-labor and anti-poor policies in the event that he wins.

‘Waiting in the wings’: as Biden stumbles, Gavin Newsom’s name is on everyone’s lips

Ever since Biden’s poor performance at debate, the California governor who’s spent years seeking a national stage finds himself at the centre of one

@aaron.rupar @GottaLaff Be better if he was 40. Wouldn’t want all his actions over this term so far to be challenged because he hadn’t been of constitutional age. I have a vague sense the current Supreme Court would be receptive to undoing his efforts.
