One design down...a gazillion others to go! XD

I finally stamped down the design for Astemar's alter ego, Astraea--or rather, the past life version of Astraea?!

This form is more or less based on her namesake, Astraea who left mankind at the end of the Bronze Age, and who may return once mankind once again, uh, gets better, let's just say. You can read more about the Greek goddess here [https://www.theoi.com/Titan/Astraia.html] Mine's less Greek and more, hmm, I don't want to say symbolic, because she's not. My version's more "wandering goddess who visits different parts of the planet, and everyone knows who she is--and doesn't at the same time."

ASTRAEA (Astraia) - Greek Goddess of Justice & the Constellation Virgo

Astraea was the ancient Greek goddess of justice. During the Golden Age she dwelt upon the earth with mankind but was driven away by the increasing lawlessness of the subsequent Bronze Age. Zeus then set her amongst the stars as the constellation Virgo.

If you want to know where my head's at whenever figuring out the exact stories to do for Astraea, on the visual side, I often think of Red Sonja, Moribito, The Weathering Continent, Mad Max and of course, bikini babes doing cool stuff. (One of these is not like the other, hah!)

However, I was struggling to translate her design from my head to real life. I wanted poofy 80s rock star hair, I wanted bikini babe and I wanted wanderer look. It was in my head, but surprisingly for me, I was having trouble putting it down on paper. (If I can be a braggart for a second: usually designs come quick to me. This one was one of the hardest I've had to do!) Then one day, I was watching Dragula Season 2, where the contestant Biqtch Puddin' [https://rupaulsdragrace.fandom.com/wiki/Biqtch_Puddin#The_Boulet_Brothers'_Dragula_Season_2_Looks] came in with her "Post-Apocalyptic Wasteland Look"...and I tell you, I'm lucky my face didn't get stuck in stunlock mode.   I kept yelling at myself internally and doing that Leonardo DiCaprio pointing finger meme at the TV. "It's her! It's da Astraea chick!"

I was so happy I could finally have a "reference" to match the image in my head...so I went to drawing and designing. After a few months of hemming and hawwing, erasing while lamenting that love left me cryin' (wait)--heck, even so much as a few hours ago, I was still trying to decide whether to go simple or extravagant before ultimately taking a bit from two draft designs and merging them together--she's finally here!

Some actual points:

Astemar/Astraea's image color is gold, both for the Golden Age reference and from her mecha, Oriana, whose name's etymology is related to gold (oro). I have no idea if the pink works well, but I put it there because Astemar's more magical girl form (when she's very young) has pink in it. IDK, I guess we'll see.

Her dark blue bikini is meant to be more latex than leather, but I've been fickle on whether to establish it as leather or latex, so that's up in the air. Latex is easier to breathe for a wanderer, though...!

Her body should be like a female wrestler's. Something between Rhea Ripley's and Willow Nightingale's body. Nice boobs and a very big butt, the natural kind Latinas woefully suffer from and the kind that nobody seems to appreciate until other people who are usually not Latinas have 'em. (I said what I said.) This also applies to modern Astraea as well.

Her "face frame" (I'm blanking on the actual term, alright?) can shift into a mode where she can have a face plate to protect her mouth at least. Just like in my modern Transformers! [https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Mouthplate]
