@GatekeepKen And less actual belief in a deity.

@GatekeepKen

Heck, some of them don't even have beer.

@GatekeepKen

And religion is in fact opium for the people… a way to keep them suppressed!

@GatekeepKen
I see it's time to break this out again...
🙈 🙉 🙊
@clintruin @GatekeepKen When you realize that this is the foundation of one of the world's largest religions you can appreciate the fear for the future of mankind.

@trainman @GatekeepKen

“They trust in anything that authenticates their importance as persons, tribes, societies, and particularly as a species that will endure in this world and perhaps in an afterworld that may be uncertain in its reality and unclear in its layout, but which states their craving for values "not of this earth" - that depressing, meaningless place their consciousness must sidestep every day.”
― Thomas Ligotti, The Conspiracy Against the Human Race

@clintruin @GatekeepKen I like how this meme accurately reflects the prevalent omission that the Jewish baby grew up to set an example and give instructions that nobody bothers to follow.
@sundiesel @GatekeepKen
⬆️
An extremely salient point.
@clintruin @GatekeepKen Any respectable editor would have pointed out that the story has one too many ideas. You need to pare it down a bit...
@GatekeepKen I'm an atheist, but bacon and booze does sound a little better.
@wolf
No , sorry. Try again.
@GatekeepKen Dang. I was hoping I might find a religion with benefits.
@GatekeepKen And ultra-orthodox Judaism is with coffee and bagels.

@GatekeepKen @LALegault
Not true. You lose on abortion and divorce rights.

> Saudi Arabia allows for abortion when the health of a patient is at risk—including mental health, which can function to allow for abortion in cases of rape or incest—contrary to only the narrow “life” or “medical emergency” exceptions that are now increasingly common in state bans in the United States.

Authoritarian Regimes Have More Progressive Abortion Policies Than Some U.S. States

Americans in states with regressive anti-abortion laws now have fewer human rights protections than those in countries criticized for their records on women’s rights.

@GatekeepKen @LALegault

> the U.S. anti-abortion trends are worrying not only because they harm women’s rights to reproductive agency, but also because they diminish religious freedoms, since Muslim religious ethics make a strong case for women’s well-being taking priority over that of the fetus.

Alabama, Iran, or Saudi Arabia? We checked where abortion laws are better for women - Middle East News

Laws in many Muslim-majority countries in the Middle East are actually more lenient than those currently being pushed in some U.S. states, Haaretz finds

@GatekeepKen Dear atheist allies in the fight against theocracy, use this post as a case study of what NOT to do. Comparing American Evangelicalism to ISIS or Hamas is intentionally inflammatory and bigoted in of itself. And if that isn’t what you meant to say, well guess what? Thats the type of groups that are going to pop into peoples head when you say “radical islam”. Utterly shameful waste of electricity.
@GatekeepKen I don’t like this one. It’s fine that you post it, whatever. Given the current state of Islamophobia I just think it’s misguided. Hindu nationalism is just as scary if not more so. Hell, there’s even Buddhist nationalism. I guess I just feel like Christian fascists - who are evil - could be criticized without the appeal to Islamophobia. Yes I realize that non fundamentalist Muslims aren’t being called out but they will suffer nonetheless.

@GatekeepKen

...except the islamists pray four times a day, while the evangelicals don't pray four times a year.

@GatekeepKen hence why they should be called the "American Taliban". Calling them anything else doesn't present the danger that most people dismiss and ignore as just misunderstood patriots purely due them having the same skin color and faith. Even if called as AT, most will dismiss it as over blowing or fear mongering or something but maybe get just enough to see the danger and vote them out. #AmericanTaliban
@htpcnz
Dems suck at messaging .
@GatekeepKen Why are the fucked children always concealed? Genuine Christianity only with degenerate assault. 👆
@GatekeepKen and, not to forget, power in Western countries, unlike radical Islam.
