In a 6-3 decision, split exactly along party lines, Chief Justice John Roberts ruled that the courts—and, more particularly, his court and the people who have bought and paid for the justices on it—are the sole arbiters of which laws can be enforced and what enforcement of those laws must look like. Roberts ruled that courts, and only courts, are allowed to figure out what Congress meant to do and impose those interpretations on the rest of society.

We Just Witnessed the Biggest Supreme Court Power Grab Since 1803

The court has given itself nearly unlimited power over the administrative state, putting everything from environmental protections to workers’ rights at risk.

@paninid @stevecut @Tbsa This is the legacy we left in 215/6 when we should have been out stumping. Our only choice now is to organize with those youngsters for change.

Joseph Stiglitz's Vision of a New Progressive Capitalism | Capitalisn't

In the last 60 years, few economists have contributed more to exposing the failures of capitalism than Joseph Stiglitz. Formerly the chief economist of the World Bank and chair of the U.S. Council of Economic Advisers under President Bill Clinton, Stiglitz won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2001 for his work showing that the possibility of having different information can lead to inefficient market outcomes. On this episode of Capitalisn't, Stiglitz joins Bethany and Luigi to discuss his latest book, "The Road to Freedom: Economics and the Good Society" (W.W. Norton, 2024). The book, as Bethany describes it, is a "full frontal attack on neoliberalism" that provides a prospective roadmap towards a more progressive form of capitalism. Together, the three discuss the role of mis- and disinformation in producing market inefficiencies, the importance of regulation, institutional accountability, and collective action in correcting market failures, and the role of neoliberalism in today's global populist uprising. In the process, they underscore the close link between economic and political freedom.

@stevecut This is worse than Roe. People need to understand

@stevecut Reminder: Separation of Powers does not, repeat NOT equate to supremacy of one, two or even three corrupted branches of power bought by criminal revisionist, revanchist & rebellious oligarchs.

@stevecut The adamant rule, that the Constitution does not create a monarch above the law also applies to Pope Leonard Leo & his six Federalist Society justices on the Supreme Court's bench.

Obviously they're corruptly ignoring the fact, that they're only holding a people's (=public) office, because servants (=representatives) of the people confirmed their nomination to the bench, for good or bad — the latter definitely referring to every Federalist-Society justice undermining the authority, credibility & integrity of the U.S. Supreme Court.
