God Bless Paul Davies and the Philly Inquirer: "In fact, the debate about the debate is misplaced. The only person who should withdraw from the race is Trump... Biden on his worst day remains lightyears better than Trump on his best.... There was only one person at the debate who does not deserve to be running for president. The sooner Trump exits the stage, the better off the country will be."

To serve his country, Donald Trump should leave the race | Editorial

Biden had a horrible night Thursday. But the debate about the debate is misplaced. The only person who should withdraw from the race is Trump.

The Philadelphia Inquirer
@jeffjarvis It would be the best for the country, but he DGAF about anyone but himself, never has, never will.
@jeffjarvis I don't think Trump ever gave "service" much consideration.
@jeffjarvis Thank you for this article. This is what I call journalism, a Peking truth to power.
@jeffjarvis thank you for this article, it made me feel so much better to see an actual journalist say what I believe most people are thinking after Thursday...
@jeffjarvis CNN is complicit in not fact checking everything traitor trump said. All major media is complicit in gop subversion.
@jeffjarvis always been a big fan of Richard Jones and his team

@jeffjarvis

Yes, wonderful article, but what can you do about the fact that almost 50%of Americans are too stupid to read, take in information, process it and make rational decisions based on it.

This image by Ian Miller, the great dystopian illustrator sums up MAGA and the trump supporters so well: a sick evil machine, crashing to oblivion and spewing lies all the way down.

@jeffjarvis

The editorial is True but Useless. We know Trump won't drop out.

The issue around Biden is subjective but important.

The editorial ends with: "The sooner Trump exits the stage, the better off the country will be."

The only way to accomplish that (outside of some freaky event) is to beat Trump in the election. Figuring out the best strategy to achieve that is the only important question here -- discussion of that is not misplaced.

@vashbear

It's a lot more useful than the NY Times editorial board's white flag of media complicity.

@jeffjarvis

@jeffjarvis Trump must step down. Do us a favor trump, step down now. Stop the destruction of our freedom, go play golf.

@jeffjarvis My hometown paper! I've had a sub to the Inky since the 90s, and I think my 88yo mom has had a sub since the 60s.

They did good -- a real contrast to the NYT.

@jeffjarvis in moments of turmoil, printing the simple obvious truth (that no one else can / will) makes you a hero, a martyr, or both.
@jeffjarvis The Journalists could have devoured him but instead they sat back and let it all go.

@halfbloodprice

Clicks over the future of the country and the world. An epic failure of the fourth estate.

@jeffjarvis

@jeffjarvis

True… the choice between a politician with 40 years of experience and an excellent track record in his presidency and a narcissistic sociopathic thug and a felon is a no-brainer. Get rid of this con man, GOP. For the sake of the country.
