https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nqxjfp4Gi0k loving this. i kind of want to try making some of the 18°C stuff myself;

A #DIY make-at-home non-toxic Phase Change Material that can act as a thermal battery, like a cool pack. it stays at 18°C while it's going from frozen to solid or backwards. That means you only need to lower it to somewhere below 18°C to "charge" it for cooling.

This is a specific ratio of Sodium Sulfate + Table Salt (NaCl) plus something that turns it into a gel (optional but very recommended)

order placed ... what have i done ...

thanks to smaller amounts of the ingredients costing drastically much more, I will now have ... an amount ...

guess i'll offer some packs to my parents and maybe neighbours for roughly the price of the ingredients, then it won't be as silly

when you put the ideatech silicone bags between your back and the back of a chair - and probably equivalently lie down in bed or on the couch with it somewhere against your body - it can definitely very slowly leak from the main chamber into the space where the kind of strip thingie is pressed into the groove, and from there it can slowly leak little amounts of content to the outside.

I've been worried this might happen, and I'm not entirely sure how to deal with it.

If the content never has to be changed again, which is hopefully, and probably, the case, then maybe using a sowing machine to make a tight row of stitches just above the sealing mechanism may be good. On the other hand, stitching makes holes, and any content that goes through the seal may then be pressed out through the holes, or seep through the thread itself ...
