Just an observation:
If we didn't already have them, the Republicans today would block the
Clean Air Act
Clean Water Act
Safe Drinking Water Act
Endangered Species Act
Toxic Substances Control Act
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act
Superfund Act

As it is, they're trying to roll back every one of these protections, and the SCOTUS is helping.

@petergleick from what I hear on TikTok, the supreme Court just ruled all regulations invalid
@StephanSpielmann @petergleick Not exactly but they have made it so the courts (you know, the ones with Trump judges) will have the final word on interpreting regulations rather than the agencies that drafted them and enforce them
@petergleick A couple of those were signed by one Richard Nixon, Republican.
@petergleick Where have all the good assassins gone?
@petergleick
Something has to be done with SCOTUS .
This is absolute lunacy and corruption coming from them.
@petergleick
Our work is cut out for us. But we need courageous politicians to roll up their sleeves and get busy.
@petergleick
Today's Republicans would also have opposed the
Civil Rights Act
Voting Rights Act
Pure Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act
13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 23rd, 24th, and 26th Amendments
@petergleick
And national parks. They want to roll back Teddy Roosevelt.
@petergleick see also 13th and 19th amendments and chunks of the 1st.
@petergleick with Chevron gone, they're as good as dead
@petergleick Tories in the UK are just the same. They will do anything for money.
