Ian DeesAnyone know how @obsidian's Sync service stores vaults locally? Are they just files downloaded to your local machine?
jwass2000@jwass2000 I thought so. But maybe the Sync does something magical with sqlite or writing to files on the internet instead of locally.
AJ Ashton@ian As far as I can tell it’s all done using the normal local files. I enabled it on my existing vault a few months ago and everything stayed in place. I occasionally view & edit notes outside of Obsidian and it still syncs fine.
Nelson Minar@ian Yes. I use obsidian sync and also access the files directly with no problem. I like Sync by the way, way better than setting up my own thing with syncthing
