This spot is across the basement from 🐢's nook. He cleared off the table and a couple of the cubbies in a nearby bookcase recently, so I took the opportunity to move in, so I can do #ttrpgCampaign planning (or draw or color or write or research) nearby when he's playing videogames.

Last night all I had set up here was the chair and a few books and pens on the table, but when I pointed it out to him, he was delighted (and found me a lamp and finished clearing his stuff off the table).

Now we have better setup for doing our separate things together in the evening—parallel play like the neurodivergent people we are.

I'm a little shocked at how much we are really getting settled in our relationship.

We're working on taking walks together to get a little exercise, spending cozy evenings doing our separate things nearby each other, and a lot of other comfy things that middle-aged couples seem to do.

This is pretty much paradise in its quiet little way.

But anyway, I'm a big believer in creating spaces for yourself. They don't have to be fancy. It can be a dirty old card table and the cheapest Ikea chair there is. All it takes is a few things to designate it as an official Place and you're all set!
