@HarbingerOfSalem @AlisonW centrists are the true evil 💯

Could we add those who say there is no point in voting? That's what led to this disaster ...
@AlisonW @seanwithwords @HarbingerOfSalem
Exactly. 28% didn’t vote in the Brexit referendum and there’s a good chance most of them thought staying in was a done deal and there was”no point” in voting. Who knows where we’d be today if we’d had a bigger turnout? I probably wouldn’t be a Swedish citizen now

@HedgeNewby @HarbingerOfSalem @AlisonW I hear that (and referendum votes ARE unique, I think) but, along with similar arguments I hear in the US, it smacks of victim blaming.

Citizens in these so-called free democracies are subjected daily to oppression delivered by objectively corrupt humans, and then expected to join the party thrown by those humans when it’s time for pandering rallies and promises that are broken before they’re made…

@HedgeNewby @HarbingerOfSalem @AlisonW I’d rather focus criticism on the system and insist that it needs to be fixed. Placing criticism/stress on the citizens/voters bc of how they respond to a terribly violent and corrupt system means that the citizens will have to change (vote, or argue, or be othered, etc) rather than placing stress on the system that NEEDS to break and change
