This crap again? I don't care for third party app stores. All I care about as a consumer is secure devices that focus on my privacy. The EU can't guarantee such products so I don't care what the EU thinks is best for me.

I want to be able to use Apple Intelligence as it is designed by Apple in the EU so make that happen!

@HugeGameArtGD @EUCommission @SebastienK then what is your problem? If you're not interested in it you're free and welcome not to take advantage of it, but others might care. You're not the only EU citizen, nor does the UE revolve around you.

No, I say that you're free to choose, so why do you want to compress other's freedoms?
I am an Apple user (not an Apple fan), and yes the alleged respect for my data and privacy is among the reasons I buy an iPhone (I can't say I trust it 100%, but better than the OS made by an advertising company).
I don't plan to install 3rd parties app stores, but I recognize that Apple's monopoly needs to be regulated, and I don't oppose other's freedom of choice.

@SebastienK @HugeGameArtGD @EUCommission Yes I do, and I'm glad for the GDPR, the DMA, and all the raining-in the EU is bestowing other the out-of-control American uber-comapnies.
People's freedom needs monopoly-like companies to be regulated.

@unlucio ok so what do you think of all the new features Apple baked into iOS 18? I love those features. But they sound like a closed system to me. Unlike what the EU wants of tech. You really want to share your data with all the AI data collecting cowboys out there? I like Apple's closed vision on that. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I don't have any opinion, so far, on "Apple intelligence" since I haven't tried it yet, I'm open to it. I do despite Apple's capricious spite of trying to use it as leverage against the DMA tho.
I don't like sharing my data with the tech bros, but I don't have to: the openAI's connector in Apple's intelligence is opt-in and boxed, and the DMA doesn't "make you share your data".
I guess your problem is: lack of understanding.

@unlucio you don't have to have tried it don't understand how most of these features work. AI features baked into the OS. Like image generators and all that stuff locking out most of the the third party AI stuff for consumers today

@SebastienK @HugeGameArtGD @EUCommission I think you're too emotionally invested in this "Apple's things" to have a rational exchange.
I do know what they presented, but since I don't trust marketing evangelism, I prefer to try and assess things myself before forming an opinion and choosing if I want to use them or not.

I'm not sure why you think those features will lock out other "AIs" applications. They'll not. People will still be free to install other "AIs" if they choose.
