Apple’s new slogan should be “act different.”
Today, we informed Apple of our preliminary view that its App Store rules are in breach of the Digital Markets Act, as they prevent app developers from freely steering consumers to alternative channels for offers and content.
We also opened a new non-compliance procedure over concerns that its new contractual requirements for third-party app developers and app stores fall short of ensuring effective #DMA compliance.
This crap again? I don't care for third party app stores. All I care about as a consumer is secure devices that focus on my privacy. The EU can't guarantee such products so I don't care what the EU thinks is best for me.
I want to be able to use Apple Intelligence as it is designed by Apple in the EU so make that happen!

@unlucio ok so what do you think of all the new features Apple baked into iOS 18? I love those features. But they sound like a closed system to me. Unlike what the EU wants of tech. You really want to share your data with all the AI data collecting cowboys out there? I like Apple's closed vision on that. 🤷🏽♂️
@unlucio you don't have to have tried it don't understand how most of these features work. AI features baked into the OS. Like image generators and all that stuff locking out most of the the third party AI stuff for consumers today

But long story short: nobody is forcing you to do anything, you can still choose the Apple way as much as you like.
Other people that might want to stray from Cupertino's path have freedom of choice.
