June 5. This was the date that my gas water heater gave up. I had to check the date on the photo.

I have spent most of the following 2 weeks trying to convince local plumbers that 120v #heatpump water heaters exist.

I think we had a breakthrough today. I got a spec sheet and a quote.

Now I have to get the electricians in. Still, feels like progress.

Both the plumber and the electrician did not know these existed. They admitted this to me. Pretty sure they didn't believe me at first. Is #GettingQuotesWhileFemale a thing?

I gave them this video that I thought was really helpful.

2024 Heat Pump Water Heater Buyers Guide

@mem_somerville That's really fascinating, thanks. Right now our hot water comes from the oil-fired boiler that heats the house (forced hot water baseboard radiators). It's very expensive to run even in the summer months when we're not heating the house. I don't know if it's possible to use the current boiler just to heat the house and to have a heat pump for water, but I'm going to find out!
