Mom just called and has arrived safely in Courtenay BC. Really close to the house where she and I did a winter house sit for 6 months in 2018.
Never fell in love with Courtenay or Comox, but it's a nice area with everything you'd need.
Nothing justifies the housing prices, though. Not even a decent beach in the area.
@kboyd we weren’t impressed with Goose Spit or Seal Bay. Comox Lake is nice, but I don’t remember a beach there.
People talked about Kye Bay having a beach, but I don’t understand how anyone can call that a beach.
@kevinlovestech hmm, I think there are two beaches on comox lake, but I was never one for beaching. One is by the campground.
Other options are Miracle Beach to the north, and Rathtrevor Beach to the south.
@kboyd there’s even a little area south of the Airpark near the “shipwreck” that people kept calling a “beach” out of desperation. It’s pathetic.
Aside from that it’s a lovely area.
