Vielleicht möchte ich gerade nichts mehr als von den Black Metal Skinheads angeschrien zu werden? #Blasphemy #FallenAngelofDoom
@HailSatan Blasphemy are fucking great. What music app is that?

@HailSatan Thanks, I've been trying out different music apps on my phone since I decided to cancel Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Premium. So far I haven't found one that I'm completely happy with, but I'm gonna give that one a shot.
@izan
Neutron looks absolutely shitty but it sounds absolutely great!
@HailSatan I'm literally trying anything and everything at this point. Musicolet, Oto Music, Poweramp, are the 3 I've tried so far.
@izan
I'm truly Audiophile. Musicolet is s great Solution if you don't want to spend money. I bought the Pro of PowerAmp, I bought DoubleTwist Pro, Jet Audio HD and multiple other Premium Players. There was a time I've not been able to use Neutron. That time I used USB Audioplayer Pro. Now I'm able to use Neutron again and I love it that much!
@izan
Neutron is capable to use Bit Perfect, Cross Feed AND Equalizer at the same time. If you're using USB Audioplayer Pro you have to decide if you want Bit Perfekt OR Equalizer and Cross Feed.
@HailSatan Bit perfect is what I try to aim for so I'm looking forward to trying this out.
@izan
If you only want your Music-Playback to be Bit-Perfect you can use multiple Apps. Like DoubleTwist-Classic, Jet Audio HD or USB Audioplayer Pro. They all support Bit Perfect Playback. Only Neutron supports Bit Perfekt playback combined with Cross Feed and Equalizer. Neutron Code Ltd. is far from beeing perfect, their Customer-Support is rather shitty and if you're facing an issue you're by yourself but that doesn't mean that their app is bad!
@HailSatan There's a good chance I'll end up trying all of them. Sometimes you just gotta try everything lol.
@izan
If you want to burn money? Why not. All of it are Premium-Apps. I'd only recommend Neutron and USB Audioplayer....

@HailSatan @izan sorry to jump in the middle, but I reckon Neutron is excellent. It sounds better than power amp to me. The best part is the equalisation, especially if you have headphones in the autoeq database.

The UI takes some getting used to, but it doesn’t bother me at all any more.

@brh
It doesn't have to look good if it sounds great...
@izan
@HailSatan @brh I can deal with the chaos that foobar2000 can turn into so I don't mind tinkering with it at all. So far I've been imprsesed by it tbh.

@HailSatan @izan

I'm a bit of an audiophile too. I've bought enough music on CD to choke most MP3 players (and I have probably designed more portable MP3 players than most).

On my phone, I like Musicolet. It doesn't choke, has been easy enough to learn how to use, and offers some nice functions to those willing to learn how to use them.

@johnlogic
I don't buy CD's that often, I prefer buying music digital. Neutron isn't easy to set up. Not because of too many options but because the options aren't all easy to find. But it sounds absolutely great. I use it with a Sennheiser Momentum 4. If you'd like to try it you can do that for a limited time for free on Android devices. I'd highly recommend it!

The only true audiophile music player with Hi-Fi audio rendering and DSP engine

@HailSatan @izan

Uh, CDs *are* digital. They're 44.1 kHz 16-bit PCM stereo. I prefer the resolution they offer, and find that lossy encoding and compression formats come and go.

Thanks for the tip on Neutron; I might have to check it out!

Also thanks for the tip on the Sennheiser headphones. I totally wore out my old Sony MDR-V6 headphones. (By the way, that's the same model that Sony uses in its production rooms. I've even seen them in the mastering rooms at Sony's big CD factory, years before I worked for Sony.)

@johnlogic
Sure they are. But I prefer buying my music as FLAC on Bandcamp, that way I don't have to use my Laptop to be able to listen to them on my phone. The Sennheiser is a bit pricey but it sounds really great, only the ANC isn't good at all. I had to choose between the Sennheiser and a Sony model that did cost a little bit more. I wasn't able to buy them both so I choose the Sennheiser because I was reading it sounds slightly better.
@izan
@johnlogic @HailSatan Obviously I know CDs are digital. What I was trying to say was if I'm gonna if I'm going to buy something to buy something digital I prefer flac only. If I want something physical I'm more inclined to buy it on vinyl.

@HailSatan Nice. I'm still messing around with them and haven't really picked one but Neutron is the one I've been using lately. To be fair I also haven't been in public listening to music lately so I just use my PC or bust out the vinyl collection.

At one point I was using Roon just to see what it was like as far as PC audio players. It's cool and all but not that expensive cool and it kept messing up with certain file tags.

@izan
My PC is crap. It's only reason for existence is that I need the possibility to digitalise CD's. If I want to listen to music without headphones I connect my Phone to my stereo using a high quality cable. I specially love the equalizer Neutron offers.
@izan
If you're using an Apple device you'll get freed of the iTunes force and you'll be able to listen to FLAC instead of ALAC.
@HailSatan All of my music is FLAC or mp3 until I can replace it with FLAC. ALAC even existing drives me insane, and I am saying that as someone who had the misfortune of working for Apple.
@izan
ALAC sounds a lot better than MP3 but I love this Quote: 'ALAC sounds like the CD, FLAC sounds like the Studio Mastertape'!
@HailSatan I know that mp3 is lossy compared to FLAC being lossless, but I just hate ALAC on principle alone.
