@HailSatan @izan sorry to jump in the middle, but I reckon Neutron is excellent. It sounds better than power amp to me. The best part is the equalisation, especially if you have headphones in the autoeq database.
The UI takes some getting used to, but it doesn’t bother me at all any more.
I'm a bit of an audiophile too. I've bought enough music on CD to choke most MP3 players (and I have probably designed more portable MP3 players than most).
On my phone, I like Musicolet. It doesn't choke, has been easy enough to learn how to use, and offers some nice functions to those willing to learn how to use them.

I don't buy CD's that often, I prefer buying music digital. Neutron isn't easy to set up. Not because of too many options but because the options aren't all easy to find. But it sounds absolutely great. I use it with a Sennheiser Momentum 4. If you'd like to try it you can do that for a limited time for free on Android devices. I'd highly recommend it!

Uh, CDs *are* digital. They're 44.1 kHz 16-bit PCM stereo. I prefer the resolution they offer, and find that lossy encoding and compression formats come and go.
Thanks for the tip on Neutron; I might have to check it out!
Also thanks for the tip on the Sennheiser headphones. I totally wore out my old Sony MDR-V6 headphones. (By the way, that's the same model that Sony uses in its production rooms. I've even seen them in the mastering rooms at Sony's big CD factory, years before I worked for Sony.)
@HailSatan Nice. I'm still messing around with them and haven't really picked one but Neutron is the one I've been using lately. To be fair I also haven't been in public listening to music lately so I just use my PC or bust out the vinyl collection.
At one point I was using Roon just to see what it was like as far as PC audio players. It's cool and all but not that expensive cool and it kept messing up with certain file tags.
