#LaptopOnline in #SouthAfrica sent me a Core i3 device when I'd ordered and paid for a Core i5 device. Seems they did not notice the visible Core 3 sticker on the front of the device. They sent my device to a different buyer, so I got the inferior product and must now battle the refund via Takealot.

Check your orders carefully on receipt, esp for refurbished devices.

This was not Takealot's fault, as the sealed box did show the correct Core i5 description.

This however is a #Takealot problem in that you cannot inform any other buyers of issues with the supplier....
@danie10 It's a double edged sword. I suppose it depends on how the broker (e.g. Takealot or Amazon) handles things. Amazon effortlessly fixes incorrect or broken deliveries. Can't speak for Takealot. Which is why I, personally, am never interested in 1 star reviews that are about the delivery (late/lost/damaged/wrong). I only care about the *product*, because those other issues Amazon will sort out for me immediately. Obviously, I have no idea if Takelot is that good with these kinds of issues.
@leoncowle with Takealot it is only a return option - there is no substitute available. Yes Takealot is not interested in posting the review about incorrect product supplied although to me it could have been an issue if this happens with other customers too (but we won't know now).
@danie10 (this reply is only about US Amazon, can't speak to Takealot). Amazon does allow these reviews, and, like I said, I personally don't value them much. Purely because Amazon is so good at handling it. Returns, substitutions, refunds. With just a few clicks (no customer service needed in 99% of cases). And because we have Amazon Prime, which includes free delivery and, importantly, free returns for nearly everything we buy, people's experience with the *process* becomes unimportant to me.
@danie10 But if there are any concerns about how efficiently Takelot handles it, then I would agree with you, posting reviews about the *process* becomes an important feedback item for others (and others' experience for you)!
