I'm Team "It Doesn't Translate Well" but the word I would have picked would be "Shameless" or perhaps "Brazen".
My wife is a linguist and one of the things she really drove home is that the best definitions are contextual: as in, a word is defined by how it is used, and most words can be put in a situation in which they are the word to use, and that this is how they should be understood. That's why she usually talks about really needing a corpus for the language to understand it.
Anyways, that's a long way of saying that the definition is the story we all know that defines chutzpah.
