My milk carton advertises it is made with organic (and recyclable) cardboard and plant-based liner for waterproofing.

Isn't that how all milk cartons were made until the 1980s or so?

Let's look for other opportunities to eliminate plastic that don't require new technology -- just returning to what we did a few decades ago.

@larrymodell Yes, it may be “plant-based.” Yet, I’m still confused as to whether this carton is truly recyclable in my town. The recycler won’t say, the carton doesn’t say, and the website of the producer doesn’t say.

@ELS Good question. Their word choice of "renewable" seems to tap dance around that question.

But still better than plastic, in any case. It presumably can biodegrade, compost, or even burn more cleanly.
