Has anyone figured out if and how it might be possible to edit a save file to change that after the fact without starting over?
@0xDokki presumably it should be doable via the cheat engine, but would take some reverse engineering. From a quick read the cheat tables should provide a pointer to the player object, which I'd expect has a reference to the player model and/or a gender bool for indexing the correct player model. Some poking around would be required.
I say this as someone who hasn't played with either System Shock nor the FearLess Cheat Engine, so don't take it as gospel. Asking on the fearless forum might be your best bet, someone experienced might be willing to do the poking for you. Good luck!
@anyia I've played around with cheat engine a bit myself, that might be worth a shot.
A similar idea in spirit I've had was to make two saves on a newly started game, each with a different gender, and hex diff the resulting files
