I’m thinking I want to make a summer quilt, but I’m struggling with a concept

Summer isn’t really my season — not an outdoor person, generally too hot — so a lot of the typical summer signifiers, like sun, flip flops, and the beach, don’t resonate with me 🤔 maybe palm trees? Foofy drinks?

I dunno, just doing the equivalent of thinking out loud but online

@inarticulatequilter I made one, an hourglass/ninepatch, using only fabrics with winter themes: snowflakes, snowmen, mittens, etc. (I avoided Xmas as much as possible). The batting is cotton and I use it in summer to remind me that cooler days are coming. Here's a pic of the flimsy.
