Shutting down pride is the wrong response to hate. We have pride because of the hate. If we could hold our partner’s hand, dress as we want, etc, in public without hate, pride would be no longer needed. What the assholes *want* is for us to be too scared to show solidarity with each other in public.

@joelle I feel like the correct response is treating it like a duel - if someone strikes violence a pride and then taken out? 🤷

I suppose there's the whole "eye for an eye" and all that... but pride is a riot?
