So I'm putting together an #rstats workshop on {targets}, and this involves writing a bunch of code that doesn't use targets, and I am getting absolutely destroyed by stale-state type bugs that I am no longer vigilant against after 5 years of working with drake/targets.

Frustrating but also affirming. πŸ˜…

@milesmcbain looking forward to the workshop!! 😹
@mdsumner Are you attending? Amazing if so. But I also hear you have some pretty good access to my man Nick Tierney. I should hope he's got you on the straight and narrow by now!
@milesmcbain yes I'm attending, and lovely to have Nick here πŸ™‚
@milesmcbain I’m coming
@aidybarnett Excellent. I hope to make it worth your time.
@milesmcbain really enjoyed the course and am making my first stab at a targets project now.
@aidybarnett yessssss that’s great!
@aidybarnett feel free to tag me if you get stuck somewhere
@milesmcbain will materials for said workshop be made available at some point? πŸ€“
@joelnitta yes! Some of the WIP is already public. All of it will be eventually.

@milesmcbain is this it? https://github.com/MilesMcBain/ssa_targets_workshop

I love the cycles vs. lines part. Totally agree that data analysis in practice is much more cyclical than most of us are probably conscious of, and this leads to tension when trying to write/use a linear sequence of analysis scripts πŸ”„

I had not thought to describe it that way before, but may have to borrow this the next time I teach {targets}!

@milesmcbain Did you also check geotargets?
@JensWiesehahn I'm following it of course, not planning to use it in the workshop.
