George Orwell, “What is Fascism?”, 1944

It will be seen that, as used, the word ‘Fascism’ is almost entirely meaningless. In conversation, of course, it is used even more wildly than in print. I have heard it applied to farmers, shopkeepers, Social Credit, corporal punishment, fox-hunting, bull-fighting, the 1922 Committee, the 1941 Committee, Kipling, Gandhi, Chiang Kai-Shek, homosexuality, Priestley’s broadcasts, Youth Hostels, astrology, women, dogs and I do not know what else.

Definitely correct when applied to the ERG or Tufton Street regulars.

@antifaintl Godwins law worked until Trump came along and then Godwin came out and said the law now no longer applied
@antifaintl Not everyone you disagree with is a Nazi! 💯

@antifaintl
Note that they didn't even say they weren't Nazis, just a vague, technically true statement that doesn't necessarily have to do with the original point.

Always be suspicious of someone who doesn't directly answer your question.

"Did you do this?"
"Why would I do that?"
"I'm not a mind reader. Did you do it?"

@antifaintl
This is exactly the line where someone supposedly antifa becomes the enemy to the world.

If anyone who disagrees with you is a Nazi, and even violence is justified against Nazis, then the only way you're better than them is that they serve corporate interests openly, but they have to work a bit to aim you at their enemies.
