We all know that fossil fuel companies, Conservatives, right-wing media, and Tufton Street are all a circle jerk of corruption and funded climate denial, but it’s nice to see it so meticulously laid out and annotated. #ClimateCrisis #ClimateCorruption https://www.desmog.com/2024/06/12/mapped-tory-network-climate-denial-fossil-fuel-funding/
Mapped: The Tory Network of Climate Denial and Fossil Fuel Funding

Speaking outside Downing Street on 23 May, announcing a general election for 4 July, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak took a swipe at what he dubbed “environmental dogma”. @Philsturgeon Interesting.

I'd like to see similar analysis across all parties so there is a balanced insight.

Are you aware of any such work?

@nshephard no but desmog did a brilliant article on Labour MPs taking money for anti heat pump lobbying from British Gas. Tories are by far the worst and as the ones in power it’s obviously far more relevant.

@nshephard years of experiences dealing with this bullshit gives me the overall opinion that Tories are far worse at this, but I’m not pretending that counts as evidence nor am I interested in the burden of proof. Certainly as Labour have lately become the obvious next government they’re more likely scooping up more oil checks. That’s a given. We don’t have that data yet.
