1. There is presumably a grace period to sell or dispose of any firearms.
2. It may be the case that he is not technically a convicted felon until sentencing (laws vary by state).

@uspolitics AFAIU, he has the good excuse to that that his conviction has not gone into force yet since he hasn't been sentenced, ...

... but it's also a pre-trial release violation, and he's on four pre-trial releases right now.
