This day six years ago was the last time I boarded an aircraft, on my way back home from Berlin Buzzwords. Today, I am instead flying through the German countryside on the night train to Stockholm.

Last year was the first time I had to sacrifice something to avoid air travel, when I couldn't make it to my friends 50th birthday party and also arrive in time for the conference. Other than that, I enjoy travel more than I did when I travelled by plane. I am looking forward to new carriages which IIUC will arrive in a few years' time - the current ones are old and worn.
