Okay #woodworking people, I have a gripe. Why is it near impossible to find a simple vacuum hose adapter for a shop vac? I bought a low profile dust extractor and the ports are 2 1/2 in. My vacuum hose 1 7/8. I look on Amazon and I see them all over, but try to find them locally? I think I'd have an easier time finding the Holy Grail. Any ideas?
@jdev958 my Home Depot had a hose adapter set with a few different adapters. I finally broke down and bought that, and it usually has what I need. It’s never perfect though.
@jdev958 It truly is insane. Regain your sanity by drawing a line in your system using all the same sizes and types up to that point, but use fernco plumbing fittings/couplers at the border where you attach to your machine or to that last section of hose. Fernco fittings, recall, are just a short piece of rubber tube with grooves for a worm gear hose clamp at either end. Very simple and cheap. If the tube breaks, the clamps are reusable.
@jdev958 Rockler sells a kit of adapters. Or 3D print them.
