Sounds like the Bramm Yards may be sold off.
I'm disappointed to hear this as I think we could use this land as a model of what's possible for dense, walkable complete communities - I'm not convinced we can achieve that if we sell the property. #KitCouncil https://www.therecord.com/news/waterloo-region/report-calls-for-selling-kitcheners-bramm-yards-for-development/article_793bde12-db28-5788-9206-9c3349984ffd.html
Report calls for selling Kitchener’s Bramm Yards for development

A prominent piece of city-owned land in downtown Kitchener should be sold for redevelopment, a new report says.

The Record
@dtkmelissa It sounds likes they're aiming for it to follow the Vienna model, which I think would be great. Obviously, it's would also be very easy for the City to continuously "compromise" with a developer until the project no longer has any guidelines, but I'm hopeful that won't be the case.
@n2burns I think my concern comes from the lack of good examples locally where the city sold land off and in return it got an exemplar development. I'd rather see some sort of 'lease' to a non-profit, or a donation to Build NOW WR for at least part of this project.
@dtkmelissa Yeah, I'm probably being overly optimistic and hopeful. I totally agree that there aren't any good local examples of developments. KW is also almost completely missing the public/non-profit housing from the Vienna model.
