Also, I really appreciate how painless elections are here in Germany, compared to what I've heard of the USA. Registration is automatic, voting stations are plentiful, and the whole thing is done on Sundays, i.e. when almost no one in Germany has to work.

@juergen_hubert I had to vote by mail because we left Germany on Friday. The registration letter had a QR code. The code opened a page with my data prefilled, two check boxes and a button. Got my voting forms two days later. Done.

@juergen_hubert american elections are deliberately difficult in areas the GOP won't win. have you never noticed the queues to vote are filled with black voters, not white rural ones.

@Thebratdragon @juergen_hubert Where I live, voting is easy and quick. Also, about 20% of the population is some kind of lawyer. 😃

@juergen_hubert not done on Sundays here in Canada, but they are open from like 9am to 9pm, and workplaces do have to give people enough time off to go to them on election day (if someone has like a 12 hour shift or something)
