@RetroEnthusiast you still around?
@anonny I am not spending as much time on social media these days but yes I'm still around.
@RetroEnthusiast He lives! I was going to ask about resin 3D printing, I remembered talking with you about that a while back. Took me a while to decide, but I ended up getting an Elegoo Mars 4 Ultra recently
@anonny I've heard good things about Elegoo, let me know how it works out.
@RetroEnthusiast so far so good, printed this: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/art/posey-bloom-mlp and currently painting. Didn't you end up picking a resin printer up? How's that going if you did?
Posey Bloom (MLP)

The ever-unhappy pony from the fifth generation of my little pony! ![Posey](https://derpicdn.net/img/view/2023/9/7/3196274.gif) The inspiration for me was the 56th episode of TYT about the song festival in the forest of unicorns. Posey had a cool hairstyle design there, so I immediately wanted to repeat it. ![Posey](https://derpicdn.net/img/view/2023/7/13/3162712.gif)

Cults 3D
@anonny I like cults3d, they got some cool stuff on there. I did pick one up but kinda put off setting it up until recently. And I don't have my damn filters to pour resin back because I've misplaced them so I ordered a reusable one.
@RetroEnthusiast I hope I'm not making a mistake by leaving the unused resin in the printer for days and days
@anonny I can't speak from experience, but i don't think it's recommended lol I printed some stress tests on mine and they came out great, a few had issues but only on the real fragile areas.

@RetroEnthusiast Cool! Glad your getting around to printing. I went off this redditor thread when I didn't pour it back: https://www.reddit.com/r/resinprinting/comments/1c7yyz8/leaving_resin_in_the_vat_if_it_is_bad/

I forgot about the "stir before using it after sitting for a while"... I still haven't printed anything besides the Posey model parts (well, besides the initial "cones of calibration" prints to dial in exposure time). What I'm aiming to do is make some silicone molds to do resin/candy *casting* off some prints eventually

@anonny I got 4 successful prints recently, I did some monsters and player character minis.
@RetroEnthusiast awesome, want to post some pics? I've been waiting to post here because I want to have her finished for that... had to email the custom waterslide decal place and it looks like they forgot my order, so it'll be a little while longer STILL.
@anonny I got them glued to their bases too.
@anonny the lamia was just covered in supports so I'll try to print her again without so many, one of the supports merged into her staff and it broke off when I removed them.
@RetroEnthusiast great, the first base (left) seems a bit weird, did that happen because of lack of supports or being too near the edge of the print bed? Or maybe thats just the design? I had a bit of a weird deform on a my base too, I think it was too close to the edge
@anonny I printed it perfectly flat on the bed and that's frowned upon, now I know why it's frowned upon lol All the minis that I printed with bases that I leaned back 30 degrees came out looking great.
