This was part of a talk about Endocrine Biohacking, a really good talk.
A rotating speaker underneath an umbrella, playing some weird droning music. Not entirely sure what was going on here.
1. South London Makespace was serving free breakfast every morning, I stopped by there to have some toast and honey. I love how open each village is with regards to sharing resources with visitors and making sure everyone stays healthy during camp.
2. The Twin Peaks phone, part of a mysterious ARG involving owls hidden around the campsite. I remember this also being at EMF 2022 but I never really looked into it. You dial numbers on the phone to get hints, and there is a reward at the end. By @barnoid
3, 4. The volunteer kitchen. I did a shift for this on the first day and ended up doing the washing up for the most part. Hygeine is important! Thank you everyone else who volunteered in the kitchen, you did an awesome job and the food was very delicious.

Hacky Racers! Another very fun feature that returned to EMF Camp this year. Build your own vehicle and bring it in for a race around the circuit.
1. Two tildagon badges. As a tradition at hacker camps you can recieve an electronic badge to wear as part of your ticket booking. This year, the badge had modular attachments you could plug in called 'hexpansions'. You could also use a USB C to USB C cable as the lanyard.
2. Iain Softley, the director of the cult classic 'Hackers' was at EMF Camp this year, introducing the screening for the movie and also doing a Q&A afterwards.
3. The cinema tent where Hackers was screened was packed! I didn't stick around to watch it since I've seen this movie so many times before, the introduction was fun to watch though.
4. A funny ad for the endocrime talk. "Become Girl / Boy / Nonbinary". Someone had added a sticker that said "Snack". What gender is Snack? 
Null sector was ~amazing~ again. I already had high expectations for it this year, and my expectations were blown away. I love all of the world building they have going on with Polybius Biotech and this years' installations fit really well with the solarpunk theme. These pics were taken during a h0ffman set, video to follow.

Even more of the Null Sector stage. Look, if you're going to play that raccoon song, you have my attention. You have no idea how fast I dashed back to the stage just to record this video.
"I played Tetris on a guy" was not on the list of things I thought I'd be saying after EMF Camp this year, but here we are.

1. An interactive projected map of the campsite you could connect to and control from your phone, created by @boxly
2. The night market in Null Sector, where merchants can come in and sell their artsy or techy things. A little bit too cramped compared to how it was last time, I had to wait for the crowds to move out before I could get a proper look at what was on display. No fudge this year either :(
3, 4. The Magic Teapot made it to Null Sector, housing the Cybar. Really chill area to hang out in the evening, specially with the warm fireplace in the middle.
A telephone exchange! This was a very fun installation to play about with, you could even use these phones to call anyone else on the EMF phone network as well

A neat gyro-based fluid simulation on a small LED display. I didn't catch the name of the person who made this but if you're reading this, I loved the little keychain one you made (not shown in this video)
Outside the entrance of Null Sector, there was a MIDI keyboard and a joystick hooked up to some lasers you could control.
So hey, h0ffman did not one, but two!! two performances!! in one night. What a treat that was. After his performance at Null Sector, he went over to Stage B to perform a live Amiga set

After h0ffman was finished, the Acid Pig took to the stage.
The pig was some kind of modular synth, and there was also a hat with rotating owls. I don't really know what else to say about this one, it was very unusual.
A late night walk around Null Sector. I wanted to see if I could take a video to capture the general atmosphere of the location. Words and photos really struggle to do justice for how amazing the experience was.
A computer can do handwriting, too! This installation seemed to be a plotter connected to a computer which was programmed to write a letter. You could take a sheet of paper, place it in the marked area underneath the pen and press a button to make it write. Let's see this thing write an essay

4. If you're a Star Wars fan you'd probably love this. There is a 'Droid Builders' club in the UK. From what I can tell, they get together to build replica Star Wars props. Very cool!
1. Speczilla! A giant playable ZX Spectrum installation by @gasman -- I remember when gasman attempted to bring this to EMF 2022 and things really didn't work out, so it's great to finally see this as a functional installation.

4. A pizza from the pizza stand. Very delicious home-cooked pizza. I really appreciate how considerate the people who ran this stand was with regards to food sensitivities. I did an order from their menu and asked them to replace the tomato with onion and they went ahead and served exactly what I asked for. More food stands need to pay attention to people who may not be able to have certain ingredients.
This video was a little bit of an "of the moment" kinda thing since I quickly pulled my camera out while I was on the way to Stage A to watch a talk. The little robots were called 'crawlybots'. You can see more about them here https://crawlybots.uk
1, 2. Many, many ads posted on a notice board outside of stage B. Every time I walked by it there would be something new hiding somewhere.
3.Matt Parker (Stand Up Maths) & co hosting a stage show called An Evening Of Unnecessary Detail, this was very funny
4. CuTEL, the phone provider at EMF, had some very good signs/posters up around the campsite, this was one of them
A birdhouse, but no ordinary birdhouse. This one had a button you could press to recieve a "daily message". In my case, the daily message was "Worry less!". So true.

A look behind the scenes with the lasers on the Null Sector Stage.
A very, very cool mask.

We definitely have zero regrets camping within range of Null Sector. For reference, this video was recorded at half past 1 in the morning.
One of the merchants in the Null Sector night market had a 3D printer set up, so you could watch the lizards being 3D printed in real time!
The CCC (Community Cultivation Collaboration) tent. To fit with the theme of solarpunk, there was a greenhouse tent set up behind the lounge where you could donate plants and take new plants home with you. Or if you really wanted to, you could listen to a cabbage. I tried listening to the cabbage and all I heard was, uh, cabbage. yeah, I heard cabbage.
1, 2. The Button. One of the exhibits installed in The Robot Arms tent, There are two timers, you wait for the smaller timer to hit 0, then you can print off a receipt with a barcode to recieve a pin badge. If you are patient enough, you can sit and wait for half an hour to recieve a level 6 pin badge.
3. MastoDot, a realtime fediverse dot matrix printer monitoring the emf2024 hashtag, by @mattgrayyes, also making a presence in The Robot Arms.
4. One of the many public telephones you could find around the campsite, including multiple stickers with phone numbers you could call.

2, 3. A quick visit to the ECHQ tent, including a BBC Master displaying EMF Ceefax and a Toshiba Tecra 500CDT laptop, and a chameleon phone!
4. another ad for CuTEL, with the bragging rights of being "The UK's Largest Dial Up ISP !"
This is Stumpadelic Sound, a musical instrument that is made out of a tree stump. If you were looking for peak solarpunk at EMF this was definitely the tent to visit!
1. Zapp, a reflex test game where you press the blue and green buttons as they light up while avoiding the red buttons.
2. The exterior of The Robot Arms
3. Zombie shooting range, a shooting gallery using nerf darts, brought over to EMF Camp from Pi Wars https://piwars.org/2024-disaster-zone/challenges/zombies/
4. A physical version of MS Paint. This installation was so popular I didn't actually manage to have a go on it myself. I believe this was also part of the clippy ARG that was happening across the campsite, which I am also kinda gutted I didn't have the spare time to look into since I really dig the windows 95 theme. @dreamcat

I had a fun time volunteering to keep an eye on the cabinets and making sure they were always displaying what they were set up to display, it was also a nice opportunity to have a chat with some of the people who made the games and curious visitors who were there to enjoy the games.
As a former computer games art student, I love how the arcade was focused on indie games this year, in comparison to 2022 which was pretty much just retro arcade games I'd already seen at plenty of other locations. Don't get me wrong, I love retro arcade games, it's just good to see something different every once in a while, and you can actually talk to the people who made the games as well.
I'd also like to comment on the Marathon cabinet. If I wasn't so busy during the weekend I totally would have "wasted" 4 hours of my time pressing the buttons on that cabinet. I have the patience!!
