Hey did you know I have a newsletter? I DO! It comes out once a week, it's free, and it's my most provocative thoughts on pop culture, SFF, queer stuff, or my own life experience. Topics have included #DoctorWho, writing, internalized transphobia, and the truth about "cancel culture". I would consider it a personal kindness if you would subscribe!

@charliejane Great analysis. Speaking as a fan of the book who got sick of the show, I think you nailed it on the head. I also feel that the core difference of between versions is the show is about powerful people fighting for the throne, and that the books are about the people around them and the consequences of the conflict on their lives.
