Ok gdit we are building a versatile art/pen plotter take 2. Last time life intruded.
Here are the rails. 3 X 60cm, 2 X 50cm. V slot 2020 aluminum extrusions.
There’s a formula for what size rails give what plot size but this cat is on my lap and I can’t look it up.
It will be a3 capable but more square. This will be very slowly posted but follow along for follies.
OK the cat got up.
The formula for plotter size with this design is
X rail length less 50mm = plottable X size
Y rail length less 70mm = plottable y size
Pen rail must be X rail length plus 100mm
Given
X rail length 500mm
Y rail length 600mm
Pen rail length 600mm
This machine will have a plot size of 450x530mm
It's an odd size but I don't feel like cutting the Y rails any shorter.
