I wrote a little article about how much I loved @shanselman 's response to criticism on social media

I love Scott Hanselman's social media presence

Everyone likes to hate on social media for being toxic/polarizing, but, apparently it doesn't have to be this way

Omarโ€™s Writing

I reflect on how I think social media arguments can always be this way: not taking it personally, constructive, productive.

it's not easy, but it's possible. And Scott models this wonderfully

"sometimes we are emptying the ocean with a teaspoon", and yet, we still try, and we make things better. And it inspires me to pick up my own spoon too

@[email protected] @[email protected] Agreed, sometimes we are emptying the ocean with a teaspoon. I will use my level privilege to advocate for the user as long as Iโ€™m here.

@omarshehata Thanks for highlighting the good and inspiring us to do the same.

@binaryrefinery it's taken me a long time to realize that "social media sucks!!!" is not a fact about the universe

like, how do I make this place a bit more pleasant for myself and others? sometimes it is nicer than other times, can I move towards that more?

@omarshehata Thank you for noticing, and thank you for the very kind write up

@shanselman thank you for continuing to maintain your composure & kindness in the face of everything. It feels like thankless work, I used to think it didn't matter. But it absolutely matters. And it gets easier to keep trying, remembering that we are not alone!!

("we have nothing if not integrity" keeps looping in my mind since I read it ๐Ÿ™)
