World Environment Day

On Wednesday 5 June 2024, the tower of the City Hall will light up green on the occasion of World Environment Day. In this way, the City of Brussels wants to support the United Nations (UN) campaign Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.  This is the slogan of World Environment Day 2024, which focuses on land restoration, halting desertification and building drought resilience. Climate Plan and Water Plan Through its climate policy, the City of Brussels is committed to the preservation and revival of ecosystems, also and especially in urban areas. The City already stated that it is in a climate emergency and has committed itself to a series of concrete measures to respond to this. For example, a Climate Plan (with the aim of being carbon neutral by 2050) and a Municipal Water Plan have been approved: Climate Plan Municipal Water Plan
