Continuing experiments with a variety of polymer clay mixtures for 1:3 scale keycaps with printed or cast letters inside. The general idea is to bake the assembly just enough that they can be de-molded, the fronts sanded down to fully reveal the letters and to add the correct profile. Then I bake them to the correct hardness and glaze with a thinned UV resin.

There are many variables in the process.

So. Many. Variables.

The polymer clay can be at pretty much any hardness ranging from too hard to knead to a messy slurry, depending on the ratio of clay to liquid clay and also the brand of clay. Also, baking times change durability and color. There are many possible glazes, each with their own process and results.
Anyway, I'm pretty close but there are still a few options I want to test.
@trevorflowers Do you use a resin printer for this?
@phranck The letters are resin printed, yes.
